Mechkarevo is a village in southeastern Bulgaria. It is located in Sliven Municipality, Sliven region.
Situated 14 km southwest from the town of Sliven, some 30 km northeast from the town of Nova Zagora and 297 east from the city of Sofia.
There are regular buses to the city of Sliven.
Located 148 meters above sea level. The climate is characterized by mild winter and relatively hot summer.
The population is about 500 people.
In the village there is a town hall, community center, church "St. Petar and Pavel", medical center, shop and café. The village has cable TV, internet and mobile phone coverage.
Nearest schools and health facilities are located in the town of Sliven.
Surroundings and sights
5 km away are situated Sliven Mineral Baths. The healing mineral water and picturesque scenery, set the resort as a favorite place for family vacations and spa.
The area is a popular place for wine tourism. One of the attractions is the chateau in the village of Zlati Voyvoda. The complex is located in the vineyard, has a tasting room and 4 star hotel. For visitors can be arrangen a guided tour.
In Sliven village guests can visit: Temple "St. Sofia", church "St. Bogoroditsa", Historical Museum, the Ethnographic Museum, House - museum Hadzhi Dimitar.
