Stefanovo is a village in north-eastern Bulgaria, part of Dobrich municipality, Dobrich region. It is situated near Dobrich-Albena main road and is located 7 km away from the town of Dobrich, 28 km away from Albena resort and 45 km away from the city of Varna.
The population numbers to over 970 people. The former name of the village used to be Ayorman, which means "Bear's Forest" in Turkish. Stefanovo is known to be the oldest village in the municipality. Latitude - 265 m. The relief is flat. The climate is temperate-continental and is characterized by a cold and snowy winter, a cool spring, a hot summer and sunny autumn.
In the village there is a mayor's office, a post office, a secondary school, a kindergarten, a community center with a library, grocery shops, restaurants and cafes, a doctor's and a dentists' offices, a small park, children's playground. All modern communications are available - satellite TV, internet, coverage of all mobile operators..
The infrastructure in Stefanovo is very well organized - the roads are in an excellent condition. The village is supplied with water and electricity, regular public transportation is available to the town of Dobrich and the nearby villages. The village is peaceful, quiet and very green. Many foreigners have chosen Stefanovo to be their second home - citizens of England, Ireland, Russia and Germany.
The locals are engaged in agriculture or are commuting to the regional town of Dobrich. which is only 10 minutes drive away. The area is known as "The granary of Bulgaria" and is famous for the excellent conditions it offers for growing wheat, corn and barley, as well as the oil-yielding sun-flower and rape-seed. In the village there is a private geese-breeding farm.
The excellent infrastructure, the favourable climate and the proximity to the regional town of Dobrich turn Stefanovo into an attractive place to either live or run a private business.
