Sadovo is a town is Southern Bulgaria. It is located in municipality Sadovo, Plovdiv district.

The town is situated 18 km east direction of the town of Plovdiv and 27 km northwestern of the town of Parvomai.

The population is about 2500 inhabitants.

The terrain is plain with average altitude of 190 m. The climate in the area is transcontinental. The winter is mild with average temperatures about -1ºС and the summer is warm with average temperatures about 26ºС. The highest temperature in Bulgaria has been measured here +45.2ºС.

The town has well-developed technical, transport, manufacturing and social infrastructure.

There is water and sewerage installation, electricity, internet and cable TV. In closeness highway Trakia goes through and railway Sofia-Istanbul. Regular bus transport connects is with the town of Plovdiv and the other small settlements.

There are schools, kindergartens and library. Also there is a working hospital and medical center. Taverns, restaurants, bars, cafes and hotels are situated in the town.

Tourism

In closeness are the East parts of the Rodopi Mountain that is an excellent opportunity for mountain and cultural tourism.

Asenova krepost  is a medieval fortress in the Bulgarian Rhodope Mountains, on a high rocky ridge on the left bank of the Asenitsa River. It is situated 15 km from the town of Sadovo. The best preserved and most notable feature of Asenova krepost is the Holy Theotokos of Petrich Church from the 12th-13th century. The town of Asenovgrad takes its modern name from the fortress.

The Bachkovo Monastery or Petritsoni Monastery is situated 35 km from the town and is an important monument of Christian architecture and one of the largest and oldest in Bulgaria. It is located on the right bank of the Chepelare River. The monastery is known and appreciated for the unique combination of Byzantine, Caucasian and Bulgarian culture, united by the common faith.
