Glavatar is a village in Southern Bulgaria, part of Kaloyanovo Municipality, District of Plovdiv.

It stands about 15 km south-east of the village of Kaloyanovo, about 32 km north-east of the town of Plovdiv and about 160 km east of the capital of Sofia.

European route E 80 is about 30 km south, and Trakia Motorway is about 25 km away in the same direction.

Bus and railway transportation links the village of Glavatar to Plovdiv, through the village of Rajevo Konare to Kaloyanovo railway station and through secondary road 64

The relief of the village is flat, with altitude about 185 m.
The climate is continental. The winters are relatively mild and warm, and summers are hot.

The village population is about 215 residents.

The infrastructure of the village of Glavatar is settled with partly asphalted and lighted streets, water supply system, telephones.

There is a town house, church, community center, shop and restaurant. The closest kindergarten and school are in the village of Rajevo Konare.

Medical services are provided by GPs in the village of Rajevo Konare about 6 km west of Glavatar. The closest hospital is in the town of Plovdiv.

Attractions:

Chernozem Reservoir is about 12 km north-west, Duvanlii Reservoir is about 14 km away in the same direction, and Dondukovo Reservoir is about 17 km north-east of the village and are suitable for fishing or tourism.

The town of Hisarya, known as an excellent spa resort destination is about 33 km north-west.

In the outskirts of Kaloyanovo is “Dragon” raising track. Every year  two rounds of the National Touring Car Championship are held there , numerous branded fairs, shows and regular tuning motorcycle and automotive training days, as well as and amateur championships.
