Tatarevo is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is located in Parvonay Municipality, District of Plovdiv.


There is another settlement in Bulgaria with the same name. It can be found in Municipality Mineralni Bani, District of Haskovo.

Tatarevo stands about10 km east of the town of Parvomay, about 45 km west of the town of Plovdiv and about 190 km southeast of the capital of Sofia.

European route E80 passes about 7 km east of the village.

The relief of Tatarevo is flat, and the average altitude is 500 m.
Climate in the region is continental, with mild and short winters and sunny, dry and hot summers.

The village population is about 597 residents.

The infrastructure is settled with partly asphalted streets and lights, water-supply and electric systems, telephone lines and coverage of mobile operators.
There is a town house, community center, library and shops at the disposal of the village residents.

Medical services are provided in the town of Parvomay. There also are the closest schools, kindergarten and hospitals.

Attractions

About 2 km south of the village there is a Neolithic mound.
Less than 2 km east of the village there are Thracian burial mounds. In one of them was found a bronze armor of a Thracian warrior from the 5th century BC.

In the lands of the village were found votive tablets of Zeus and Hera, small statues, marble head of a horse with natural size and many other archaeological finds.

Asenova Fortress is about 50 km away from the village and Bachkovo Monastery is at 60 km. These are part of the 100 national tourist sites of Bulgaria, where historical heritage has been preserved and the nature is just wonderful.

Numerous national heritage tourist sites can be visited in the town of Plovdiv as well.
