Yurukovo is a village in southwestern Bulgaria. It is located in Yakoruda Municipality, Blagoevgrad region.

It is about 8 km southwest from the municipality center Yakoruda, 75 km east from the town of Blagoevgrad, about 148 km southeast from the city of Sofia. Railway line September - Dobrinishte passes through the village,lYurukovo has its own railway station.

It is situated at an altitude of 1137 m, on the border of three mountains - Rila, Pirin and Rodopi. West of the village flows Mesta River.
The climate is temperate with mild Mediterranean influence. Winters are cold and summer is short and cool.

The permanent population in Yurukovo is about 1190 inhabitants. The village is well developed - there are shops, primary school, town hall, post office. Medical attendance is provided by a GP and a dentist. Nearest kindergarten is in the town of Yakoruda, the nearest general hospital in the town of Blagoevgrad.

Park Section "Yakoruda" part of the National Park "Rila". It is also the starting point for the lakes in highland - Yakoruda, Grancharskite and Ropalishkite.

Yakoruda Lakes - situated in a cirque Yakoruda, enclosed between the peak Suha vapa,  the main peak and peak Kovach. They are a group of seven lakes, three of them are very small, shallow and dry up in summer.

Resort areas "Treshtenik" and "Banite" are a favorite place for recreation and family vacation in the winter and summer.
