Begovo is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is in Municipality Kaloyanovo, District of Plovdiv.

It stands about 18 km north-east of the municipal center of Kaloyanovo, about 36 km north of Plovdiv, about 32 km south of the town of Karlovo and about 167 km south-east of the capital of Sofia.

Trakia Motorway is about 30 km in direction south.

About 4 km west of Begovo is the railway station of Dolna mahala, on the route Plovdiv-Karlovo. There is a regular bus line to the village of Suhozem from there, which goes via Begovo.

The relief of the village is flat, with average altitude of 234 m.
The climate in the region of Begovo is characterized with mild winters and warm summers.

The population is about 668 residents.

The village infrastructure is settled with asphalted and lighted streets, full electrification, and water supply system and telephone lines.
The residents of Begovo dispose of a town house, church, post office, kindergarten, community center and shops.

The medical needs of the population are served by a GP and dentists. The closest hospital and schools are in Plovdiv.

Attractions

In the lands of Begovo was discovered the first bike used by ancient people for transportation purposes, which is 1000 years older, than the one discovered in Mesopotamia.

Reservoirs suitable for fishing and tourism in the area of Begovo are Chernozem Reservoir about 7 km south-west, Duvanlii Reservoir about 10 km in the same direction and Sinyata reka Reservoir at about 12 km north-west.
