Trud is a village inSouthern Bulgaria. It is part of Maritsa Municipality, District of Plovdiv.

It stands 11 km north from the town of Plovdiv, about 39 km south from the town o  Karlovo and 35 km south from the town of Hisarya.
The territory of the village is divided into eastern and western part, and between them is the road of republican route Plovdiv-Karlovo alongside with the railway route Plovdiv-Karlovo-Hisarya.
About 9 km away from the village of Trud is Trakia Motorway.

There is regular transport from and to the village - with shuttle line 5 from Plovdiv, with buses leaving to Karlovo and Hisarya from Rodopi bus station.

The relief of Trud is flat, with average altitude of 175 m.
The climate is continental, with warm dry summers and cold winters.

The village of Trud is with  existing sewerage system and asphalt streets, mostly lighted, and disposes of all communications.

The population of Trud is about 3 673, which makes it one of the largest villages in the municipality.
A town house, post office, two churches, kindergarten, primary school, community center, several shops and restaurants are at the disposal of the village residents and guests.
There is a health center with two GPs and four dental practices. The closest hospital is in the town of Plovdiv.

Attractions

The earliest information about organized living in these lands is dated from IV century A.D.
The territory has been inhabited by Thracians, because of the excellent conditions it has been offering at the time.
There are findings of Byzantine coins from the V - VI century A.D. in the lands of the village.
The local  St. Trinity church was built in 1869.
For it’s close location, the town of Plovdiv is a suitable tourist destination, with numerous historical attractions.
