Filipovtsi is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Tran municipality, Pernik region.
In Sofia there is quarter with the same name - Filipovtsi quarter.
It is 8 km southeast of the town of Tran and 38 km northwest of the town of Pernik. The capital Sofia is 67 km southeast.
Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements.
The village is located in mountain area at the foot of Dragovski kamak peak and its altitude is 813 m. The climate is with clearly expressed four seasons - warm but not hot summer while the winter is severe. The spring is cool with lots of precipitation and comes in the end of March the beginning of April and the fall is warmer.
The permanent population is about 163 people.
Here are functioning store and town hall. The nearest GPs, dentists, hospital, kindergarten and school are working in Tran.
From Dragovskata mahala in the village starts the route for the climbing of Dragovski kamak peak. It is difficult to climb it for you should overcome rocks by climbing.
The located in proximity Bankya village is famous for its mineral springs and is starting point for route that leads to the Erma River Gorge.
Another natural landmark in the area is the Vrabcha waterfall which is just 5 km away.
People who enjoy fishing could go to one of the near dams Lilyantsi or Krasava.
The rock church "St Petka" in proximity to Tran is also interesting.
