Malchika is a village in North Bulgaria. It is situated in Levski municipality, Pleven region.
It is 7 km north of the town of Levski, 43 km east of the town of Pleven and 38 km south of the town of Belene. The neighboring villages of Bulgarene and Asparuhovo are 4 km northwest and 3 km southeast. The capital Sofia is 208 km southwest.
The village is situated in the Danubian Plain in proximity to the flow of Osam river and its altitude is about 48 m. The climate in the area is temperate and is characterized by hot summer and considerably cold winter.
The permanent population is about 1467 people.
Malchika is one of the large villages in the municipality and is well maintained - bus transportation connects it to the other settlements. There are constructed water and electricity systems, phone central. All mobile operators have coverage. The central streets are asphalted and with lighting.
For the people in the village are functioning town hall, community center with library, choir and dance group, primary school, kindergarten, stores and restaurants. One GP and one dentist take care for the health of the people. The nearest hospital is in the town of Levski where also are working high schools. \
According to the historians the village was found in the 7-th century when was formed the Bulgarian state. During the years it had different names as in 1950 it was renamed Malchika after the name of one the leaders of the Young people labor union - Adalbert Antonov with nickname Malchika.
Most of the people are Catholics. The temple in the village is the oldest in Bulgaria and was finished in 1855. The church is unique with its outer stone facade.
In the village there is football club found in 1946 and later renamed Juventus-Malchika after the famous Italian club and there is foot academy for children.
Gorgeous natural landmark is the Krushuna waterfalls in Maarata area (situated 23 km in southwest direction) and they are a must see.
Tourist attraction in proximity is Devetashkata cave - one of the largest and most impressive caves in the country. It is located on the bank of Osam river and about 39 km southwest of the village of Malchika.
No more than 40 km near the town of Belene is natural park Persina. It encompasses the 19 Belenski islands. It is unique and significant ecologically for here are located three biosphere reserves:
