Varbitsa is a village in North Bulgaria. It is situated in Pleven municipality, Pleven region.
In Bulgaria there are four other settlements with the same name - the town of Varbitsa, Shumen region, the village of Varbitsa, Veliko Tarnovo region, the village of Varbitsa, Haskovo region and the village of Varbitsa, Vratsa region.
It is 17 km northeast of the town of Pleven and 172 km in the same direction from the capital Sofia.
It located in valley region and its altitude is 695 m. The climate is characterized by hot and dry summer while the winter is cold. There is lots of precipitation during the months June to February. Common phenomenon is the hail.
Regular bus transportation connects it to the town of Pleven and the other settlements. There are constructed water and electricity systems.
The permanent population is about 535 people.
Here are functioning town hall, community center with library, primary school, kindergarten and stores. For the health of the local people takes care one dentist and specialized medical assistance you can get on the territory of the town of Pleven.
In the area Suha Varbitsa near the village there are remains from prehistorical settlement. Here were found tools as hollow axes, sickles and Hungarian type axes, also spearheads, fragment of a sword that date back the Bronze age.
In Varbitsa is constructed Orthodox church "Vavedenie Bogorodichno" finished 1903.
