Voneshta voda is a village in the Balkan Mountains, within the municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, which is 28 km from Veliko tarnovo and 17 km from Tryavna.
It’s situated on 500 m altitude at the foot of Balkan Mountains, in a region that is famous with its pine-woods, beautiful nature and interesting historical places.
The climate in the region is temperate due to the rivers Belitsa and Raikovska, which form an interesting horseshoe-shaped valley, which protect the area from the cold winds. There’s a mineral spring, which altogether with the mountain rivers, the oak and beech trees and the fresh air create great opportunities for rest or hiking. The mineral water has healing effects and is precious balneological resource, which makes for the strengthening of human organism.
Voneshta voda has rich history, because it’s the home of the legendary Bulgarian revolutionist Philip Totyo, where is also situated his home-museum.
There are many rest houses and some hotels, most of which have indoor and outdoor pools. Some of them arrange excursions to Veliko Tarnovo, Tryavna, Kilifarevo monastery, Dryanovo monastery and Bacho Kiro cave.
The road Veliko Tarnovo – Nova Zagora runs through the village across the Hainboaz Passage.
